July 12, 2007: New Web Client & Google Gadget!

The New email2 Web Client

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally released the new email2 Web Client! The new email2 Web Client is faster, sleeker and more user friendly than its predecessor. There are plenty of changes, but we're pretty sure that you won't need much time to get used to it. Major features include:

  • There's a whole new visual design, with a focus on making the Web Client feel more like the email2 Toolbar for Outlook.
  • The Delivery Slip has gone through an overhaul and switched sides. Now it looks just like the one you see in Outlook.
  • We've done away with all the tabs and added folders for your Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and Archive. Support for custom folders is coming soon.
  • Support for smaller resolutions is greatly improved. Using the email2 Web Client on a laptop has never looked better.
  • Tonnes of behind-the-scenes changes have made the Web Client noticeably faster without compromising security.
  • You can now resize the reading area and the message list depending on what you're doing.
  • You can now view the "Message Retrieved" tracking information for each message directly from the message list.
  • The URL for the Web Client has changed from /member/ to /web/ (You'll be automatically redirected if you try to use the old address)

The email2 Google Gadget

And with the new Web Client, we're introducing another new feature - the email2 Google Gadget! Now you can check your email2 messages directly from your iGoogle homepage. For each Private Email Network you belong to, you can add a Google Gadget that checks and displays your email2 messages. Clicking on a message will open up the Web Client and log you in, giving you quick and easy access to new email2 messages and letting you know about them in real time.
