IMPROVEMENTS
email2 Delivery Slip
- N/A
email2 Secure Webmail Client
- The message list in the Web Client now automatically updates itself when there are new messages.
- Members can now edit contact information, which will be displayed in the Contacts section of the email2 Web Client. This option is found in the “Account” page of the email2 Web Client.
- When users reply to a message on their handheld / mobile devices, the message thread is now appended to the outgoing secure message.
- Linked attachments now create the “dummy attachment” for the Notification messages.
- The TO, CC and BCC smart-selection has been given a facelift. It’s now much more user friendly.
- Web Client error messages have been revisited and corrected for grammar and usability.
- “Remove Alias” has been removed from the member preferences.
- When there are no items in Attachments and Contacts sections, the UI now behaves as expected.
- Page resizing for specific circumstances has been fixed for IE6 users.
- Web Client now detects mobile devices with more reliability and sends them to the correct mobile page.
- Fixed a bug that was causing mobile sessions to expire prematurely.
email2 Toolbar for Microsoft Outlook
- Retractable email2 Pane. The email2 Pane in Outlook can now be collapsed by clicking the Retract button. By default, the email2 Pane is not displayed when reading a basic email message. For email2 messages, the pane can be expanded or collapsed on demand. The pane has also been graphically upgraded to look more like the Web Client Delivery Slip.
- Left-clicking on an attachment in the email2 Pane now opens a “Save or Open” dialog.
- Asynchronous attachment uploading. You can now upload attachments without tying up Outlook. If a large attachment has not completed uploading when a recipient receives the message, he or she will see the attachment status as “Uploading” and it will become available once the sender completes the upload.
- When uploading attachments, the Toolbar now properly displays the entire file size and percentage in the progress bar.
email2 PEN Admin Console
- Membership Packages. Members of a Network have the option to upgrade their accounts to remove limitations.
- The www.email2.com website now has Single Sign-on (SSO) functionality. From the homepage (www.email2.com), users can log in with an account for any Private Email Network (PEN), and they will be provided with the full list of PENs that they belong to, along with any PENs that are open for them to join. If a user doesn’t have an account with any PENs, entering an email address and password will begin the registration process with oPEN by inviting them to join.
- Member Aliases can be enabled or disabled on a per PEN basis. PEN creators can also set the default state when creating a new PEN.
- Administrators can now manually manage member aliases.
- Auto-invitation is now sent every day that an invited user doesn’t register.
- The admin email must exist and be registered before it can be set. This prevents issues that would occur in rare situations when the admin email was set to an unregistered address.
email2 PEN Server Console
- email2 Notification templates have been standardized across servers.
- Enhanced throttling mechanism that is more adept at detecting and banning spammers.
- More efficient PEN Creation technology.
