Spam and virus reduction

The email2 Private Email Networks platform allows the sender to restrict user access, limiting the possibility of spam entering the system. The current statistics (2006), suggest that 40% of all email is considered as spam. Spam email, as far back as 2002, was costing Corporations $8.2 B/year. email2 drastically reduce unwanted ‘spam’ email and messages containing potentially damaging viruses. Using an email2 Private Email Network enables an organization to limit communication to a specific user groups. The email2 Delivery Slip allows users to check incoming attachment for viruses before retrieving the attachment to their local computer.

Allowing recipients to manually retrieve messages once the ‘delivery slip’ has been reviewed substantially reduces the probability of getting infected by a virus. The ‘delivery slip’ contains information such as who the sender is, whom it is sent to, and a brief summary of the message, etc. In addition to this standard information, extended metadata can also be displayed. This includes items such as tracking data and message permissions. The fields that the delivery slip displays are entirely customizable by a PEN administrator.

Delivery slips containing inappropriate key strings or virus warnings can be blocked and deleted before the messages ever penetrate the recipients’ local environment. Additionally, users are guaranteed to retrieve messages from the proper sender, resulting in spam, ‘phishing’ and virus reduction. Self executable viruses are not able to infect the email2 server and propagate themselves because files are stored broken into parts on the server, resulting in an overall more secure global network
