I can't see received video messages!

Some users may experience difficulties when attempting to view video messages, especially if the computer that they are using is part of a secure workgroup at an office.

email2 video messages are presented as streaming Flash video, using the Adobe Flash Media Server. The default communications protocol for Flash Media Server is RTMP, which uses port 1935.

Many office networks lock down unused ports in order to protect themselves from infiltration attacks. Since port 1935 is typically unused on office PCs, it is not uncommon for the port to be blocked. Please note: There is nothing inherently unsafe about this port. It is generally blocked because it is not in use, not because it is specifically considered a security vulnerability.

Another possibility if that the protocol itself, RTMP, is being blocked by your network’s firewall. If you are having trouble using the video messaging module, we recommend that you contact your Network Administrator and ask about the network security settings regarding RTMP and port 1935.

If one or both of these is blocked and your Network Administrator is not able to unblock them, you will not be able to use video messaging at this time. However, a solution that will increase compatibility while maintaining a high standard of data security is currently being researched and developed.
