- [Toolbar] This email2 Toolbar update is mandatory and will address stability issues for Microsoft Exchange users. It also introduces an automatic update system, which will ensure that mandatory updates can be rolled out automatically in the future.

- [Web Client] The message list in the Web Client now automatically updates itself when there are new messages.
- [Toolbar] Retractable email2 Pane. The email2 Pane in Outlook can now be collapsed by clicking the Retract button. By default, the email2 Pane is not displayed when reading a basic email message. For email2 messages, the pane can be expanded or collapsed on demand. The pane has also been graphically upgraded to look more like the Web Client Delivery Slip.
- [Toolbar] Left-clicking on an attachment in the email2 Pane now opens a "Save or Open" dialog.
- [Toolbar] Asynchronous attachment uploading. You can now upload attachments without tying up Outlook. If a large attachment has not completed uploading when a recipient receives the message, he or she will see the attachment status as "Uploading" and it will become available once the sender completes the upload.
- [Server] Member Packages are now implemented. Members of the oPEN Network have the option to upgrade their accounts to remove limitations. Premium accounts allow:

Premium packages can be purchased through a secure PayPal system, which has been integrated with the email2 Web Client.
Users can view their package restrictions in the Account Settings area of the email2 Web Client.- [Server] The www.email2.com website now has Single Sign-on (SSO) functionality. From the homepage (www.email2.com), users can log in with an account for any Private Email Network (PEN), and they will be provided with the full list of PENs that they belong to, along with any PENs that are open for them to join. If a user doesn't have an account with any PENs, entering an email address and password will begin the registration process with oPEN by inviting them to join.

The New email2 Web Client
It's been a long time coming, but we've finally released the new email2 Web Client! The new email2 Web Client is faster, sleeker and more user friendly than its predecessor. There are plenty of changes, but we're pretty sure that you won't need much time to get used to it. Major features include:
- There's a whole new visual design, with a focus on making the Web Client feel more like the email2 Toolbar for Outlook.
- The Delivery Slip has gone through an overhaul and switched sides. Now it looks just like the one you see in Outlook.
- We've done away with all the tabs and added folders for your Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and Archive. Support for custom folders is coming soon.
- Support for smaller resolutions is greatly improved. Using the email2 Web Client on a laptop has never looked better.
- Tonnes of behind-the-scenes changes have made the Web Client noticeably faster without compromising security.
- You can now resize the reading area and the message list depending on what you're doing.
- You can now view the "Message Retrieved" tracking information for each message directly from the message list.
- The URL for the Web Client has changed from /member/ to /web/ (You'll be automatically redirected if you try to use the old address)
The email2 Google Gadget
And with the new Web Client, we're introducing another new feature - the email2 Google Gadget! Now you can check your email2 messages directly from your iGoogle homepage. For each Private Email Network you belong to, you can add a Google Gadget that checks and displays your email2 messages. Clicking on a message will open up the Web Client and log you in, giving you quick and easy access to new email2 messages and letting you know about them in real time.
