How does email2 help to eliminate spam and viruses?

Spam reduction

The structure of email2 centers around Private Email Networks (PENs) platform. PENs can be established for specific user groups - for example, a company PEN may restrict membership to employees, clients, suppliers, etc. In this case, these users cannot communicate (via email2) with or be contacted by non-members.

In the above situation, bulk emailers are unable to send email2 messages to the employees using the company PEN. Spammers can be quickly identified and banned from these PENs. Alternatively, if users find that a specific PEN is sending spam email, the PEN can be blocked. And of course, because email2 doesn't interfere with external email programs, third party anti-spam solutions will still work perfectly alongside email2.

Virus Reduction

The risk of contracting a computer virus is also mitigated by email2. Computer viruses are often transmitted via email attachments, and some are so virulent that even just having them unopened on your computer is dangerous. email2's attachment system doesn't automatically download attachments once they are received (at the user's option); instead users are notified of the attachment and prompted to download it. If an attachment seems suspicious, or is a confirmed virus, users can delete it from the PEN's server without ever having it put their personal computers at risk.

For additional security, users can request that the PEN itself run a virus scan before they download the file. In general, the email2 attachment system ensures more control and discretion on the part of the user.

And of course, because email2 doesn't interfere with external email programs, third-party anti-virus solutions will still work perfectly alongside email2.
